Requirements for Certification
You’re in luck: Only an authorized Volvo dealer can certify a Volvo, so the team here at Volvo Palo Alto is well-equipped to handle the job. First, the used Volvo must maintain the age, mileage and condition standards before our technicians start the multipoint inspection. There’s a long list to cover — 170 points, to be exact — and it’s all to meet the strict requirements set by Volvo. Functions like the engine, steering, suspension, tires, brakes (even smaller things like the interior light bulbs and exterior panels) undergo testing and a detailed examination. It’s all to give you peace of mind while you’re on the road, completing tasks like carpooling kiddos or enjoying the night with friends, so that you won’t have to worry about the quality of your car. Certified FAQs
Each Volvo model must be less than five years old and must carry 80,000 miles or less on the odometer. After producing a “clean” Vehicle History Report, it must pass a 170-point inspection by our certified technicians.
Volvo on Call is the mobile app that allows drivers to remotely lock, unlock and start their Volvo from a distance, access roadside emergency services, utilize time-saving connected services and more. And good news! All Certified by Volvo vehicles from the model year 2015.5 and newer will receive a complimentary one-year subscription to Volvo on Call.
Absolutely. You have the option to purchase additional coverage for up to 10 years and an unlimited set of miles at the time of your Certified by Volvo purchase. Ask about the Certified by Volvo Service Contract plan through your authorized Volvo dealer (that’s us).
Of course — once a Volvo is certified, the certification stays with the vehicle no matter the owner. That means the warranty is fully transferable to new owners at no additional change for the remainder of its lifetime.
